The Law Offices of Janet Strickland has signed on as a Silver sponsor of the 2023 FISH 10K/5K. The race, scheduled for Dec. 2, 2023, will begin and end at the Sanibel Community House as an in-person race. Start time for the 10K is 7:30am, with the 5K following at 7:45am. A family fun day, including a kid’s run, is planned at the Sanibel Recreation Center immediately following the race award ceremony.
“I love FISH and what they do for our neighbors. People don’t realize the significant needs that are still on the island,” said Janet Strickland. Strickland is in her 34th year of practicing law. She earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Florida (1978), where she earned high honors, and her law degree from University of Denver (J.D. 1989). She passed the Colorado Bar in 1989 and the Florida Bar in 1998. Janet practiced law in Breckenridge, Colorado at the Law Office of J. Albert Bauer, P.C. (1991-1997), and at Florida’s oldest firm Landis Graham French (1998-2003), before opening the Law Office of Janet M. Strickland, P.A., on August 1, 2003 in Port Orange, FL. In August 2010, Janet opened her law office on Sanibel Island, where she continues to enjoy island life and continued professional success.
“We appreciate Janet’s continued sponsorship of the FISH race,” said Leah Winkler, race committee co-chair. “We know it’s a challenging time for island businesses and are thankful to everyone for their support.”
