Islanders, friends, and family are invited to the upcoming Friendly Faces Luncheon on Tues., Oct. 8 beginning at 11:00 am. This community event offers a complimentary lunch, prepared by The Sanibel Deli, and an opportunity to reconnect with neighbors and friends.

“We are delighted to see people re-engaging and are grateful to the Sanibel Recreation Center and The Sanibel Deli for their support in making our monthly event possible,” says Erika Arnowitz, Senior Services Director at FISH. “These luncheons provide an opportunity to reconnect and learn from our guest speakers, and we look forward to welcoming everyone in October.”

The luncheon will be held at the Sanibel Recreation Center, located at 3880 Sanibel-Captiva Road, and a virtual option is available. Reservations and meal choices are required by Fri., Oct. 4 by contacting Erika Arnowitz at FISH at 239-472-4775. Zoom instructions will be provided upon registration for virtual guests. Please note that meals are only provided for in-person guests.

In October, FISH is pleased to welcome Susie Wilson as the guest speaker. A remarkable woman living with Type III-IV Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), Susie will share her inspiring life journey and experiences. With more than 30 years of involvement with the OI Foundation, including six years on their Board of Directors, Susie brings valuable insights as the co-chair of the Tampa OI Support Group and the Chair of the Bone China Tea Fundraiser. Locally, Susie is a dedicated volunteer at the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge and serves as a vestry member at Saint Michael All Angels Episcopal Church. Her presentation will highlight her experiences growing up with OI and offer valuable advice on self-advocacy in the medical field.

FISH OF SANCAP encourages all to join this informational lunch where guests will be inspired by the incredible story of Susie Wilson. “We are truly excited to hear Susie’s story,” adds Arnowitz. “Her strength and resilience are sure to leave a lasting impression on all our guests. Seating is limited, so reserve your spot today!” For more information on the Friendly Faces Luncheon or to RSVP, please contact Erika Arnowitz at 239-472-4775.
