FISH Thanks Sheridan Snell, Lisa Ann Miller, Nicole McHale

THANK YOU!  FISH OF SANCAP wishes to thank Sheridan Snell and Lisa Ann Miller for their leadership and dedicated service to the community in their roles on the FISH of SANCAP Board of Directors as Chair and Vice Chair.

“Sheridan and Lisa Ann are extremely dedicated leaders who are committed to the mission of FISH,” says Maggi Feiner, President & CEO, FISH. “During their term, they contributed countless hours of involvement in many aspects of the organization including its leadership and community presence and partnerships.  Thank you Sheridan and Lisa Ann for your passion and commitment.”

Leadership during Snell and Miller’s terms came with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic but did not discourage action on their part.  Most notably was their plea to Governor Ron DeSantis and the organization’s ability to provide 1064 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at pop-up clinics for island seniors and other at-risk members of the community. Both worked at all clinics to ensure the health, wellness and safety of the community.  In addition to serving as ambassadors on behalf of our islands, they both served on many FISH committees as well. “Undoubtedly, Sheridan and Lisa Ann encouraged consistency, continuity and flexibility for change with compassion for who we are, what we do and for those we serve. We cannot thank you enough for your service to our organization and community,” added Feiner.

Sheridan will remain on the FISH Board as Past Board Chair, continuing to promote the mission and vision of FISH and as an ambassador within the island community.  Lisa Ann Miller will also continue on as Director and serving as Helping Hands Committee Chair.  Both Sheridan and Lisa Ann in their new roles will continue their promise of fulfilling “neighbors helping neighbors”.

Additionally, FISH would like to thank Board member Nicole McHale, who will leave the board, due to term limits. Nicole has served FISH for nearly ten years as a volunteer and was elected to the FISH Board in 2013 where she served as board member, Vice Chair and Chair.  Nicole will remain Vice Chair of the FISH Foundation, where she developed The AngelFISH Society, a group of island women that empower each other and others through gathering and philanthropy. The AngelFISH Society, launched in 2020, raises money and awareness for FISH’s endowment in order to ensure its long-term success as the only wrap-around social services agency on Sanibel and Captiva.
