After two successful public speaking workshops that helped participants strengthen confidence and communication skills, FISH of SanCap and SanCap Young Professionals are hosting Toastmasters International for the bonus Part III session of their Public Speaking Community Series.
Make Resilience Your Competitive Edge will take place Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at Florida Trust Wealth Management, 2450 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, FL 33957. RSVP by August 26 at https://publicspeakingbonus.rsvpify.com/. This event designed to leave attendees motivated and ready to take on challenges with greater confidence.
Serving as the final event in the three-part public speaking series, this bonus workshop focuses on resilience, adaptability, and mindset. Participants will learn how these skills can improve communication, leadership, career growth, and personal success while gaining strategies for staying confident under pressure. The workshop is ideal for professionals, community leaders, volunteers, job seekers, business owners, students, and anyone interested in building stronger communication skills.
The session will be facilitated by Toastmasters International Naples Advanced Toastmasters chapter, led by Christine Cargnoni, Distinguished Toastmaster, along with a video presentation by Dr. Henry Bowles.
While resilience expert Dr. Henry Bowles will not be present for the workshop, Naples Advanced Toastmasters has received permission to incorporate selected videos and concepts from his work throughout the presentation. Bowles is known for helping individuals and organizations strengthen resilience, adaptability, and performance through practical strategies that can be applied in both professional and personal settings. Participants can expect an engaging and interactive experience that combines discussion, reflection, and actionable takeaways.
The bonus workshop follows two well-received sessions held earlier this summer through a partnership between FISH and Naples Advanced Toastmasters.
“I attended the first workshop and walked away with skills I could use immediately,” said participant Sarah M. “The presenters created a welcoming environment where everyone could learn and participate. I feel much more confident speaking in front of groups and sharing ideas in professional settings.”
Another participant, Michael T., said the series exceeded his expectations. “I signed up because public speaking made me uncomfortable,” he said. “What I gained was much more than presentation skills. I learned techniques that helped me become a better communicator overall. The workshops were informative and surprisingly fun.”
Simon Robson, Community Outreach and Resiliency Director at FISH, said the partnership has created opportunities for community members to invest in themselves. “We are incredibly grateful to Naples Advanced Toastmasters for bringing this series to our community,” said Robson. “Their speakers have generously shared their expertise and created an environment where people feel comfortable learning and growing. Strong communication and resilience are skills that benefit every area of life, and this final session offers participants a chance to build both.”
Community members are encouraged to register early, as seating is limited. RSVP by August 26 at https://publicspeakingbonus.rsvpify.com/. For additional information, contact Simon Robson at FISH, 239-472-4775 or simon@fishofsancap.org.
