Crossing the finish line at FISH of SanCap’s JOG N JAM comes with a little something extra this year.
FISH is bringing back its “Show Your Medal” campaign, with participating island businesses offering special perks to runners after the JOG N JAM 10K, 5K and kids run on Saturday, Nov. 7.
Runners can keep the JOG N JAM experience going after race day by bringing their medal to participating businesses to receive that business’s special offer. This year’s medal has a patriotic design commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States, giving runners a special collector’s item to mark both the race and this historic year. Offers and expiration dates vary by location, with several extending through the end of December.
JOG N JAM Committee Member Elaine Parente heads up the Show Your Medal effort, working directly with local businesses to build participation and give runners another reason to spend time around the islands after race day.
“JOG N JAM is about bringing people together, and we wanted that experience to continue after runners cross the finish line,” Parente said. “Show Your Medal gives runners a chance to visit some of the businesses that support this community while enjoying a little something for what they accomplished. We are so appreciative of the businesses that said yes and joined us this year.”
Participating businesses include Beach Daisy, Billy’s Bikes, Bubbly Latitude, Celebrer Design Studio, Charlie’s Island Gifts, Island Pearl, Island Time Wine, Nannys of Sanibel Children’s Shoppe, Rachel Pierce Art Gallery, Pierce’s Paw Paradise, Home By Rachel Pierce and Sanibel Pilates & Spa.
Offers range from discounts at island shops and galleries to a complimentary bike rental and fitness and spa offers. Each participating business sets its own terms and redemption period, so runners are encouraged to review the full Show Your Medal list on race day and keep their medals handy in the weeks following the race.
Time is running out to register for the 2026 JOG N JAM race. The 10K, 5K and kids run take place Saturday, Nov. 7, bringing runners, walkers, families, volunteers and supporters together for one of FISH’s signature annual events. JOG N JAM continues on Saturday, Dec. 5 with the annual beach concert featuring the Ben Allen Band, complete with fireworks, giving the community another opportunity to come together in support of FISH.
Proceeds from JOG N JAM support FISH programs serving Sanibel and Captiva residents and members of the island workforce through Food Programs, Island-Based Education, Senior Services, and Helping Hands.
