J. McLaughlin is once again supporting FISH of SanCap this holiday season with two Sip & Shop events: one on Captiva in November and another on Sanibel in December. The events give residents and visitors an opportunity to enjoy some holiday shopping while supporting FISH and the neighbors it serves.
The first event will take place on Friday, Nov. 27, the day after Thanksgiving, from 12:00-4:00 p.m. at J. McLaughlin Captiva, 14830 Captiva Dr Unit 240, Captiva, FL 33924. A portion of sales during the event will support FISH’s JOG N JAM, the organization’s annual fundraiser featuring the 10K/5K race and kids’ run on Nov. 7 and the Ben Allen Band concert on Dec. 5 at ’Tween Waters.
The second Sip & Shop will be held Saturday, Dec. 12, from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at J. McLaughlin Sanibel, 1616 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, FL 33957. A portion of sales from the Sanibel event will benefit FISH and its year-round programs and services.
“We are so grateful to J. McLaughlin for continuing to support FISH and our community,” said Maria Espinoza, FISH Executive Director. “Having both the Captiva and Sanibel stores host events for FISH during our event and holiday season is incredibly generous. It is also a wonderful way for people to come together, shop locally and help neighbors right here on the islands.”
FISH works throughout the year with residents and members of the Sanibel and Captiva workforce through four program areas: Food Programs, Island-Based Education, Senior Services and Helping Hands. Services include the food pantry, financial assistance, Meals-by-FISH, social and educational programs, transportation, medical equipment loans, disaster preparedness and response, and other assistance based on individual and household needs.
The Captiva Sip & Shop adds another way for the community to take part in JOG N JAM and support FISH’s largest annual fundraiser. The Sanibel event continues that spirit of giving into December, with proceeds supporting the organization and its year-round work.
“Community partners like J. McLaughlin make a difference in what FISH is able to do throughout the year,” Espinoza said. “FISH appreciates their continued friendship, their generosity and everyone who chooses to spend part of their holiday season supporting neighbors.”
