“I first found out about the recovery grant from Alex at the SanCap Chamber- they thought this would be a perfect fit for Macintosh since we had damage from both Hurricanes Helne and Milton.
This grant was just a gift that helped offset the cost of cleanup, loss of contents and just the loss of business days open.
I want to give a huge thanks to FISH–not only did you make this grant possible–but you also played an important part of the island’s recovery with your wonderful service at The Community House–from a hot meal to a sponge and clean up kit. I think what FISH does is really essential.
It can be difficult to accept help in uncertain times. There can be a stigma associated with needing support. If we can take a step back and realize that sometimes our strength comes from giving to our community and sometimes our strength comes from knowing when to accept help. This is a natural cycle of life. We are all in this together!”
