FISH of SanCap Announces 2026 Board Leadership and New Members

FISH of Sanibel-Captiva (FISH) is pleased to announce its 2026 Board of Directors officers and welcome two new board members, while also recognizing the service of several longtime leaders whose terms have concluded.

After years of dedicated leadership, John Morse transitions into the role of Past Board Chair. FISH extends its heartfelt thanks to John for his steady guidance, thoughtful decision-making, and deep commitment to neighbors across the islands.

Susan Ryckman has been elected Board Chair beginning in 2026. Susan brings a strong sense of purpose, continuity, and care for the mission of FISH as she steps into this leadership role. Bill Hayles will serve as Board Vice Chair, continuing his long-standing involvement and support of FISH’s work.

“FISH is in very good hands with our 2026 Board of Directors,” said Maggi Feiner, President & CEO of FISH. “This group brings a mix of experience, fresh perspective, and deep care for our island community. Their leadership will help keep FISH focused on what matters most—showing up for our neighbors, strengthening our programs, and making sure we’re well positioned to meet both today’s needs and those still ahead. I’m grateful for the strong foundation built by our past officers and excited about the direction we’re heading together.”

FISH also recognizes and thanks Jim Brady and Kathy Samson, whose board terms have concluded. Both have contributed significantly to the organization’s growth and impact, and their service is greatly appreciated.

Joining the Board of Directors in 2026 are two new members with strong ties to the islands and a shared commitment to service. Lisa Drews is focused on giving back through service and leadership. After stepping away from her professional career as a CPA and Accounting Manager, Lisa has dedicated her time to volunteer work, supporting individuals with financial literacy, computer skills, and GED preparedness, and assisting nonprofit department managers with budget preparation. Lisa first volunteered with FISH in 2023 in the Food Pantry, where she quickly became known for her thoughtful and reliable approach. She currently serves on the FISH Finance Committee, helping to ensure fiscal responsibility and long-term sustainability. Lisa and her husband, Dave, began visiting the islands in 2009 and now proudly call Sanibel their primary home.

Audrey Stewart is a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University with a degree in Communication. Alongside her husband, she has helped grow their family business, Adventures in Paradise Cruises, by modernizing its marketing and strengthening its connection to the community. The family now also operates Adventures in Paradise Outfitters and recently reopened A Little Adventure, a children’s store that reflects the welcoming and adventurous spirit of island life. Audrey has a long history of civic involvement, including participation in the Charitable Foundation of the Islands Leadership Program and volunteer service with The Sanibel School PTA and Fund, the Children’s Education Center, Sanibel Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, Community Housing & Resources, and the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum. She currently supports FISH as a member of the JOG N JAM Committee, where she helps organize the children’s run.

FISH of SanCap is grateful to all board members—past, present, and new—who give their treasure, time, and talent to ensure neighbors on Sanibel and Captiva continue to receive support when it matters most.
